Finding my purpose is an ongoing journey that involves introspection, exploration, and a deep connection with my values and passions. Here’s how I approach it: Reflect on My Passions and Interests: I take time to think about what truly excites me and brings me joy. I have always known I wanted to be in a service profession. As a young girl, I began volunteering as a candy striper. I still remember how excited I was to receive my red and white uniform. I put it on immediately, stood in front of a full-length mirror, and stared at my professional image. I was amazed and proud that the local hospital had bestowed it on me. I was 11 years old. I believe that each of us are multi-purpose. I have a theory that certain issues and tasks have our names on them. We are surrounded by ideas, issues, problems, and possibilities, but we cannot tackle them all. To find my purpose at any given point in time, I just had to be calmly alert enough to identify which ones were truly for me. Read more>>

This has been a question that I’ve spent quite a bit of time thinking about. I think like many people, when I started out, I began doing something that I had an aptitude for, that I was challenged by and felt fulfilled doing. After being out of school for some time it began to feel like I was making art out of habit or just because I had already invested so much time in doing it. At the same time, I had begun teaching and I had a certain natural aptitude for it, and of course teaching is a “noble” profession” and it can be quite rewarding when you make a real and measurable difference in a student’s life. As a singer/musician, I found my purpose in music through staying true to myself, and following my own path. Growing up, having been raised as a Christian, I was always taught the importance of having good impact, and giving positive messages through everything I do. In addition to this, creating a positive image for myself, being truthful, and overall just being taught to be a well rounded person also played a role in that. Having been raised on good morals, it only seemed right to me that I create music that embodies such things that I am as a person. Read more>>

Finding my purpose has been a journey filled with passion, compassion, and a deep love for animals. It all started with a simple walk in the park with a German Shorthaired Pointer named Finn, where I noticed the joy and freedom he felt simply existing and exploring the world around him. That moment sparked something inside me—a realization that I wanted to dedicate my life to enhancing the lives of pets and their parents. Over the next several years, I learned how exactly I was going to do that. Read more>>

One of human’s most common desires is to find purpose. The word “purpose” can be triggering to some, cliche to others or a huge question mark asking “who or where does it come from?” For me personally, I believe purpose doesn’t come from people or things; not your work, your finances, your family, your friends or even yourself. I fully believe my purpose is found in Jesus. The things of this world are fleeting & temporary. Read more>>

I came to the United States as a refugee from Eastern Europe at the age of 7. I silently rebelled against these norms, all while continuing to play the role of the perfect daughter. As I entered my mid-30s, I began to realize that my path might look different from what I had always been conditioned to believe. Read more>>

A few years ago, I stood at a whiteboard before twelve business owners at a peer council meeting. I was unpacking the hedgehog concept from the Jim Collins book Good to Great. If you aren’t familiar with this book, Collins studied several companies that had sustained exceptional profitability over a long period, discovering what they all had in common. One of things the great companies shared was a simple formula that Collins dubbed a hedgehog because it’s both simple and effective, like the hedgehog’s strategy of curling into a ball to wart off attack. The way I found my purpose was Influenced by my up-bringing and the environment I was raised in. Not seeing success in the rough area of gang-infested South Fulton, Atlanta drove me to not be like my peers and the influences around me. My father was a rolling stone and my mother did the best she could, but experiencing the luxury of having nice clothes and shoes was unfortunately out of the question. I vowed to one day to create not only a brand, but provide hope and style to those who aren’t as fortunate as the majority of the population. Read more>>
